C-Tec Activ C4403A1R A1R Rate of Rise Heat Detector – Conventional The C-Tec C4403A1R Heat Detector is from the C-Tec Activ conventional detection range.  This detector is EN54 certified and ideal for use on conventional fire alarm systems. The C-Tec C4403A1R is an A1R type rate of rise heat detector.  It uses a thermal element to detect sudden rises in temperature within a room.  This sensor will also activate at a fixed point if the temperature in a room is rising slowly. The C-Tec C4403A1R is set to activate if is detectors a sharp rise in temperature or if it detects a static temperature within a room of between 54 and 65 degrees celcius.
